Microsoft has introduced Project Spartan for months as an alternative to Internet Explorer, Today Project Spartan got a new formal name ‘Microsoft Edge‘. Microsoft Edge (Project spartan) is not a re-branding of Internet Explorer, it’s a whole new browser using new EdgeHTML engine. Microsoft Edge will replace Internet Explorer 11 as default browser in Windows 10 OS (PC,Mobile, Tablet).
Features of Microsoft Edge Browser
Microsoft has confirmed that IE11 will be present at final release of Windows 10 for compatibility purposes. Along with announcing the new name, Microsoft showcased new features of Edge browser along with support for Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome extensions. Microsoft Edge seamlessly integrates with Cortana to provide search functionality, voice control, dynamic personalized control in search bar. Spartan comes with an integrated reading mode which strips away unnecessary formatting and advertisement to improve readability. Integrated Reading list function synchronizes content in cross-platform (mobile, tablet, PC).
